It's probably been about nine years since proper old timey music made an appearance on a Cambridge stage, which is roughly the same time it's been since Hot Club Of Cowtown played here
There's been bluegrass and blues, the Ukulele Orchestra brought elements of old timey into their set, but it's been a while since it was all blended into a single package
Hot Club Of Cowtown are a trio that could fit into almost any venue created since the 1920s, with the possible exception of the stadiums. They have the knack of being able to fit their nightclub sleaze onto a stage and make it feel intimate. No easy talk when you're playing in front of several thousand people. Not only that they can make it feel like they're playing for just you.
Even though they are just a trio, the combination of male and female voices opens up some many songs for tem to deliver.
